Question: Is the chemical jug injecting chemical into the boiler?
Answer: The chemical is not injected into the boiler. When depressing the chem injection button the pump injects it in a separated pipe line parallel to the steam and chem is mixed just before the adjustable knob valve.

It should not be used too aggressive chemical such as acids or solvents as the internal components might be damaged.

It is extremely important for the machine lifespan and to avoid problems that users DO NOT put substances of any kind into the water refill tank, just regular tap water.

For the boiler maintenance it should not be used any descaler product as the heating elements inside the boiler cab be damaged. It should be used a solution of water and white vinegar (50/50). Read the chapter related to the boiler maintenance instructions on the manual.
