Original design was 3 wires for a single 2000 watt heater. New design is to wire the heater has two separate 1000 watt heaters. This means you will have 2 black wires that control 1 side of the heater and then 2 white wires that control the other side of the heater, and 2 red wires that control the phase location 240 volt light. If you want to run half the heater on one power cord and the other half on the other power cord you now can do this. If you want to operate both heaters on 1 power cord, join the 1 black wire with 1 white wire together, join the remaining white and black wires together. This is quite backwards than other heaters. With a multimeter and the heater not plugged into the machine, you can confirm continuity goes in one white wire and back out the other white wire. The continuity goes in one black wire and back out the other black wire. A set of white wires is for 1000 watts of heat and the set of 2 black wires is the other 1000 watts of heat.
