Since power wands use twice as much water as regular wands, we recommend that you only use machines that have auto fill and auto dump. If you do not purchase an auto fill and dump machine, please note you will have spend 10 minute cleaning and 7 minutes dumping and re-filling machine. It also does not make any sense to be hooked to a kitchen or bathroom sink and not be able to clean the entire home. You should consider a machine that can operate 100 ft while running a power wand like the Rotovac 360i. If you make a mistake in your purchase, here is an example of what can happen. If you purchase an auto fill / auto dump carpet cleaning machine with 6 stages of vacuum and then use 1-1/2" diameter hose, you can only clean about 37.5 ft from the sink. This means it will have to tare down and reset up your equipment at every sink in the home in order to clean the entire home. You want a machine that you set up one central place and clean the entire home.
The #1 reason a customer will never use you again is that the carpet was wet the next day. It does not matter how clean you get the carpet, if it is wet the next day you just lost that customer.
We recommend you please consider machines that operate with 8 to 9 stages of vacuum, have auto fill and dump, and use mostly 2" ID vacuum hose. Most carpet cleaners (including myself) prefer a short 1-1/2" ID vacuum hose leader next to the wand for more flexibility but the hose next to the machine should be 2" ID.
We a PowerWand like the RotoVac you do not need a lot of pressure because the agitation of the wand head makes up for it. It is still nice to use a high pressure machine for when you use a regular wand or for upholstery and car cleaning.
This is also true with heated machines. If you purchase a heated machine and use a Rotovac, the water is going to fly through the heater so fast you really will not experience a huge improvement but yet it is an improvement over non heated machines and when you are using a lower flow tool (like for automotive interior cleaning) heat is really nice to have.
The Rotovac will work with all brands and types of gas powered truckmounted carpet cleaning systems.

The 360i is equipped with a variable head speed control dial on the handle to allow the operator to adjust the head speed from 0 to 250 RPM.
This feature allows the 360i to adapt to all carpets from direct commercial glue downs to plush installed over pad residential carpeting. Glue down carpet may require a slower head speed for smooth operation and maximum recovery while installed over pad plush carpeting may need a faster head speed for best results.
